KRASNOYARSK, Russia - The Russian wrestling federation has reported that Tervel Dlagnev (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids) won a bronze medal at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. at the Ivan Yarygin Memorial Grand Prix on Sunday.

Dlagnev was a 2009 World bronze medalist at this division.

The website reported that the winner at the 120 kg/264.5 lbs. division was 2008 Olympic silver medalist Bakhtiyar Akhmedov of Russia.

Three weight classes were contested on Sunday (84 kg, 96 kg and 120 kg) and Dlagnev was the only medalist who was not from Russia.

Dlagnev opened with a win over Alan Dzampaev of Russia, then was defeated in his second round by eventual runner-up Barzaga Kesaev of Russia. He came back through the repechage rounds to claim a bronze medal, the only U.S. medalist at the Ivan Yarygin Memorial Grand Prix this year.

Eight U.S. wrestlers competed on Sunday. Results will be updated when received.

In the Absolute Cup, which included athletes from 96 kg and 120 kg, heavyweight Bakhtiyar Akhmedov of Russia defeated 96 kg champion Shamil Akhmedov of Russia for the honor.
